Our dentists can restore your damaged teeth and greatly improve their strength, appearance, and longevity with individually custom-fitted and manufactured porcelain Dental Crowns which resemble the tone and contour of your natural teeth.
To start the process, your dentist will reduce and contour the tooth damaged tooth and take an impression of your teeth and gums to be sent to a lab for fabrication. While it is being fabricated, you’ll receive a temporary Dental Crown to wear to prevent further damage to your teeth. When your new Dental Crown is ready, it is placed and cemented onto your contoured tooth.
Porcelain Dental Crowns are recommended after Root Canal treatment because the tooth is no longer receiving blood flow, so it becomes brittle and prone to fracturing. A fractured root canal tooth will likely result in the need to extract the tooth. Due to cost, some patients decide not to get a Dental Crown after a root canal. This could result in a fracture will be more difficult to restore, which will likely cost you more time and money than you had originally planned.
At Bow Valley Dental, we can help you discover if your dental benefits will cover a portion of the cost.
